Today’s theme is ‘Check Clean Dry’. We’re asking everyone that spends time on or in the water to check, clean, and dry boats, clothing, footwear and equipment after use to keep them free of invasive non-native species.
Here are a few of the activities taking place to raise awareness of Check Clean Dry and invasive aquatic species:
- Our webinar today is Marine Invasive Non-Native Species – what can we do about them? - with Natural England
- We’re launching new Check Clean Dry materials for rowers, developed with the help of British Rowing: Check Clean Dry poster / sign for rowers and Check Clean Dry leaflet for rowers
- The Angling Trust has produced a fantastic new flipbook for young anglers to educate them on invasive species
- Cefas has published a blog on their recent marine research highlights
- Scottish Canals are educating waterway users on invasive species and Check Clean Dry
Visit our Check Clean Dry webpages for guidance and lots of awareness raising materials for different groups.
