Don't bring back more than you bargained for this summer
Invasive plants and animals can carry diseases that kill fish, block up waterways and banks, harm the environment, make paddling difficult, and damage boats and props. Water users could be spreading them from one waterbody to another without realising, as they can be small and hard to spot so are easily spread on damp equipment and clothing. Once established in a new waterbody they can become unmanageable.

Protect the environment and activities you love by remembering to Check, Clean, Dry to keep your kit free of invasive plants and animals. It’s important to do this every time you leave the water, but particularly if you’ve been abroad as you could bring back new invasive plants and animals on your kit. Make sure everything is clean and has been dried thoroughly before you use it again at home.
