Asian hornets on The One Show
During the recent outbreak of Asian hornet in the Woolacoombe area, George McGavin from BBC’s The One Show visited the team from APHA’s National Bee Unit and National Wildlife Management Centre as they carried out their successful eradication of the nest.

George was accompanied by Dr Niall Moore, Chief Non-native Species Officer and head of the GB Non-Native Species Secretariat, who explained the importance of early detection of Asian hornet and potential impact if it were to establish.

The visit can be viewed on the BBC iPlayer. The clip begins at 2 minutes 20 seconds, lasting approx. 4 minutes.
