From the event organisers:

After the success of the first voluntary day in September, we are continuing the battle
against Floating Pennywort in the River Wey Navigation. Floating Pennywort is a Invasive Non Native Species from North America which is impacting the habitat and native species at the River Wey Navigation. British Canoeing and the Angling Trust are working in partnership with the National Trust
and Environment Agency in order to remove this species from our waterway. 

Meeting on Saturday 27 November, AM start TBC (approx. 09:30 till 15:00). Any time you can offer throughout the day will be really appreciated. 

The River Wey Navigation between Papercourt Lock and Newark Lock. Parking and meeting arrangements to be communicated to all signed up. 

What will we be doing?

There will be a role for anyone to take part! There will be opportunity to:
  • Work from the water in a canoe/kayak
  • Work from the side of bank
  • Non-physical roles
Whatever you feel comfortable with!
