Invasion Science - Connecting research, management and policy

The emphasis of this meeting will be on connecting people, sharing ideas and building a foundation for better collaboration between ‘pure’ and ‘applied’ invasion scientists.

We are excited to be holding our very first BES Invasion Science Group meeting, on 1- 2 November.

The programme will include 3 keynote speakers drawn from different invasion science sectors. We are also offering 12 x 5-minute ‘lightning talk’ slots for oral presentations and an afternoon poster session. The talks and posters will be focused on research that information invasive species management and/or policy. Talk and poster abstracts can be submitted as part of the registration process.


The programme will include two workshop sessions:

Workshop 1: Assessing upcoming issues in invasion science – addressing policy needs with research

Workshop 2: How to address gaps between pure & applied invasion science

Abstract Submission

If you would like to give an oral or poster presentation at this meeting, please submit your presentation title (12 words maximum) and an abstract (100 words maximum) to by Thursday 20 September.

We will notify you of the outcome of your abstract submission by Monday 1 October. Note that we are limited to 12 x 5 minute oral presentations.
