1. Customising posters
These files have been constructed using Microsoft Publisher software, as it is the most widely used desktop publishing application available. Publisher comes bundled with the ‘Microsoft Office Enterprise’ and ‘Professional’ suite (also includes Excel, Word and PowerPoint), but can also be purchased separately. The templates are designed to be customised to include the contact details and logo graphics of the end user (instructions below).
Within the Publisher software, locate and open the previously downloaded template file. Your organisation and contact details can then simply be added by overwriting the existing default text. The default logo can be changed by firstly double left clicking on the existing logo (this selects the logo), then right clicking on the existing logo which will bring up a menu. From this menu select ‘Change picture’ and then ‘From file’, you can then locate the desired logo image file from your own computer. The new image may then be resized to fit the available space by clicking the top left of the image and dragging the mouse in order to stretch or reduce the image (simultaneously pressing and holding down the ‘shift’ key will ensure that the dimension ratio of the image are preserved) . The position of the new logo can be altered by simply clicking and holding down the left mouse button on the centre of the image and dragging it to the desired position.
The main text and images are not designed to be edited. If the main text or images are altered, then permission for use of the existing logo graphics (GBNNSS, DEFRA, Scottish Government and Welsh Assembly) may be compromised; please contact us for further advice.

2. Customising presentation slides
These files have been constructed using Microsoft PowerPoint software, and should be compatible with any version of this software produced since 1997. The templates are designed to be customised to include the contact details, logo graphics, and additional slides of the end user (instructions below).
Customisable text boxes such as ‘presentation title’, ‘speaker name’ etc. May be altered by simply clicking on the relevant text box and changing the text. Logo graphics may be changed by using the same method as for leaflet templates outlined above. Slides may be added by using the blank ‘base’ slides provided.
Most presentations will include slides containing GBNNSS material; if the text or images for these slides are altered, then permission for use of the existing logo graphics (GBNNSS, DEFRA, Scottish Government and Welsh Assembly) may be compromised; please contact the contact us for further advice.
